SUMMARY:TIP Panels at the MPG's Annual Conference: Re-Imaging Media and Politics
DESCRIPTION:TIP Panel at the PSA Media and Politics Group conference: Re-Imaging Media and Politics\n27-28 October\, University of Portsmouth \n \nIn our long-running collaboration between the Technology\, Internet\, & Politics and the Media and Politics Group\, TIP are inviting papers for a special TIP panel at this year’s MPG conference. \n  \nSubmission \nIf you’d like to present in the TIP Panel\, please send abstract proposals for 15-minute papers to TIP (Tip@psa.ac.uk) by 23rd June. \nPlease note\, this is a few days earlier than the main MPG deadline. These should include the following: title and name\, institutional affiliation and address\, and email address\, together with a paper title and abstract of no more than 250 words. Proposers should also indicate whether they are a current postgraduate student and if they intend to present their work remotely. \n  \nSubmissions not included within the TIP panel will be passed over to the MPG group for potential inclusion within other papers at the conference. \n  \nFees & Financial support \nCost for in-person attendance: £120 for salaried academics\, £60 for PGR/low waged. This includes lunches/coffee breaks and a wine reception. The cost for online participants is £30 for salaries academics and £15 for PGRs/low waged. \n  \nThe MPG group offers a limited number of travel subsidies (up to £100) to support postgraduate student participation. PGRs interested in applying should note this in their submission. \n  \nJames Thomas Memorial Prize \nFull papers of a maximum of 2\,000 words submitted by PGR students will be entered into the James Thomas Memorial Prize. This annual award is presented to the most outstanding paper by a PGR student at the conference. Those wishing to be considered for the prize should note this in their submission\, and send the papers to James Dennis (James.Dennis@port.ac.uk) by Monday\, 16 October 2023.
